Lumi Child Safety Standards

Lumi is committed to protecting children and young people from exploitation, abuse, and harmful interactions. We maintain a zero-tolerance standard for child sexual abuse and exploitation, child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any conduct that endangers minors.

Scope

These standards apply across Lumi, including profiles, usernames, messages, media, comments, links, and any other user-generated content or social interaction surfaces available in the app.

Response Principle

Content or behavior that threatens child safety may be removed immediately and may result in account restrictions, suspension, permanent removal, or referral to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

1. Zero-Tolerance Rules

Lumi prohibits any content or conduct that exploits, sexualizes, targets, or places a child or minor at risk.

Prohibited Material

Abuse and Sexual Exploitation Content

  • Any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including real, edited, synthetic, or computer-generated sexualized content involving a minor.
  • Any attempt to upload, share, store, promote, request, or distribute exploitative material involving minors.
  • Any links, coded references, or off-platform routing intended to facilitate access to CSAM or child-exploitative content.
Prohibited Conduct

Grooming and Harmful Contact

  • Grooming, luring, manipulation, or relationship-building with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Requests for sexual content, intimate images, secrecy, or private contact from a minor.
  • Sextortion, blackmail, coercion, threats, or exploitation involving a minor.
Identity Abuse

Misrepresentation and Targeting

  • Misstating age or identity in order to contact, isolate, deceive, or target a child or teenager.
  • Impersonation or account behavior designed to gain trust for exploitative or abusive purposes.
  • Any effort to recruit, traffic, or commercially exploit a minor.
Unsafe Themes

Sexualization of Minors

  • Any depiction or presentation that sexualizes minors, including suggestive framing, fetishization, or exploitative narrative context.
  • Any content that normalizes, romanticizes, or promotes sexual contact with minors.
  • Any content that creates a clear risk of offline harm to a child.

2. Age and Access Safeguards

Lumi applies age-related restrictions and safety controls intended to reduce child exposure to harmful or age-inappropriate experiences.

Under-18 Restrictions

Users under 18 are not permitted to access age-restricted, adult-oriented, dating, or matchmaking features offered within Lumi.

Review and Verification

Lumi may review, limit, or remove accounts that appear to belong to underage users or that present a safety risk to minors.

Protective Controls

Lumi may use age gates, reporting workflows, moderation review, and related safeguards to support compliance with child safety requirements.

3. Reporting, Blocking, and User Signals

Lumi provides in-app tools so users can flag harmful behavior quickly and without leaving the app.

What Users Can Report

  • User profiles, usernames, bios, or linked content
  • Direct messages, chats, comments, or contact attempts
  • Photos, videos, and other uploaded media

  • Moderation review channels for child safety concerns
  • Priority handling for reports involving minors or urgent personal safety risk

4. Moderation and Enforcement

Lumi reviews child safety reports promptly and applies proportionate enforcement based on available evidence, severity, legal obligations, and risk to minors.

  • Removing or disabling access to violating content

  • Suspending or permanently terminating accounts
  • Preserving relevant information where appropriate for safety or legal review
  • Escalating credible threats or criminal concerns to the appropriate authorities when required by law

5. Legal Compliance and CSAM Response

If Lumi obtains actual knowledge of apparent child sexual abuse material or child sexual exploitation activity, Lumi will take action under applicable law and internal safety procedures.

  • Immediate removal or disabling of access to the reported material
  • Enforcement action against the responsible account or accounts
  • Reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or another relevant authority where legally required
  • Cooperation with lawful requests from competent authorities

6. Emergency Situations

Lumi is not an emergency service. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or emergency services right away.
